Out and About

Concourse on the town (concerts, community outreach, and so much more)

We take advantage of the many cultural and community offerings in our own backyard through community outings to concerts and theater both at MIT and in Cambridge/Boston, often followed by conversation over dinner, and community science outreach.

Staff and students also organize special trips to explore nature, locally and around New England, and to enjoy the various fun activities Boston and Cambridge have to offer.

Previous outings have been to MIT Symphony Orchestra and Shakespeare Ensemble performances, the Boston Ballet, Handel & Haydn Society and Boston Early Music festival concerts, Central Square Theater and Boston Lyric Opera shows, candlepin bowling, backpacking in the White Mountains, escape rooms in Cambridge, and much more.

Concourse at home (game and movie nights, dinners, running club etc.)

In our dedicated lounge and kitchen space, we have some recurring activities: game nights, “remedial” movie nights (movies you should see but probably have not), tea and cookies, pizza and Psets.

We also invite students to organize their own events and outings.
