IAP in Greece and Rome

Spend a portion of your IAP in “ancient” Greece and Rome.

In January, Concourse joins with History to lead a 10-day study tour for up to twenty students that alternates each year between Greece and Rome.  These trips are structured to help you do the following:

  • Learn about the historical, archaeological, and philosophical heritage of ancient Greece and Rome.
  • Enjoy the wide-ranging and informal discussion made possible by getting out of the classroom and face to face with the monuments and places themselves.
  • Engage the imagination and experience the fleeting character of greatness and the passage of time.
  • Debate questions such as: what is and isn’t accessible to us about the past, or what counts as beauty and why it is important for human beings.
  • Have fun while engaging in stimulating conversation over delicious food all along the way.

These trips are made possible in part through generous donations that enable us to offset the costs for students. If you would like to contribute, you can donate through MIT, designating Concourse Reserve as the fund, and send us a note letting us know you’d like the donation to go specifically towards scholarships for student travel.
